Keep your current process while this app is in development. Do not rely on a preview as your only backup.
The development design stops rather than guessing a replacement destination. Earlier copies are retained. Reconnection and unattended behavior need broader release validation.
Scheduled work requires an available Mac and accessible source and destination. The app is designed to catch up missed slots; it does not promise to wake a sleeping or powered-off Mac.
The Backup menu command creates a new copy from a backup manifest into a new folder. Existing folders are refused. Keep access to the backup objects as well as the manifest.
